Captain Mar'zief Falco

Captain Mar'zief Falco was born in 2337 on Caltoy, one of the larger Caitian colonies. He joined Starfleet in 2348 after he passed his coming of age and quickly advanced to the top levels of his class thanks to innate ability. However, a propensity for practical jokes nearly drove him out of the Academy several times. He has since mellowed, to the gratefulness of many.

Lieutenant Commander Mar'zief served as tactical officer on the USS Hamlet in 2361, where he met Lieutenant Jacob Harkness, the vessel's OPS officer. Initially they were antagonists, however, after the Hamlet was disabled and left for dead during the Cardassian War, Harkness and Falco worked together to keep the surviving crew alive and actually managed to repair the vessel enough to get it back to Federation space, though the journey lasted almost eight months. This harrowing experience led to a friendship that to this day has not faltered, even through two major wars.

Falco first gained command in 2369, of the New Orleans class USS Relentless, with Harkness as his XO. He commanded this vessel up until the very beginning of the Dominion War, when it was destroyed by a Jem'hadar raid. After a very brief hearing, he was given command of the USS Sutherland, which participated in several battles, including the infamous Valley of Death, the Assault on Chin'toka, and the Advance on Cardassia.

After the war, Falco met Lieutenant Commander Ian Wallace, his tactical officer. The two found kindred spirits in the other, despite their separate species, though Wallace blew Falco out of the water tactically, and they formed a fast friendship. The two were often seen in the mess hall doing contingency planning and drill planning. Their friendship was forged in bonds of fire, however, during the Taurot Campaign, a brief but fierce war in which the Taurot tried to take advantage of the weakened state of the Federation, but was ultimately driven back.

In 2380, both Wallace and Falco transferred to the USS Swiftsure, which he still commands to this day.

Lieutenant Commander Ian Wallace

Lieutenant Commander Ian Wallace was born on the 24th May, 2346 in Scotland, Earth. An only child, his father died during the Cardassian War as a Commander on board an Excelsior class.

Naturally wiry in build, he keeps himself fit through one of Starfleet’s varied exercise programs. With brown eyes and very dark brown hair, his looks are average, and at 5, had a course of Retnox IX to cure his growing short-sightedness. His high school years were unremarkable, except in PE and certain science and mathematical subjects where he was one of the better students.

In 2363 he joined Starfleet, and graduated near the top of his class four years later, with the highest possible honours in Tactical Operations. After graduating, he enrolled in the six month Advanced Tactical Training course, becoming one of the very first people to complete it. He finished his training in 2368, marked as one of Starfleet’s more promising tactical officers for the years to come. He first assigned to the USS Galaxy, starting on a long range, 5 year exploration mission.

During the years he spent on the Galaxy, he met his future wife; an un-joined Trill named Alia Karrenis, and married a year later. In 2376, their first and only child was born, Chloe Wallace, whom Wallace became completely besotted with.

Recalled after only 3 years of its exploration mission, the Galaxy soon saw action in the Dominion War, although leaving its civilian complement on Earth, including Alia, who settled down on the Moon, while Wallace continued to serve on the Galaxy as the second tactical officer and as a newly promoted Lieutenant. After the tactical officer was killed in the retreat from Chin’toka, Wallace became the Main Tactical Officer and Head of Security, a job which he would hold until 2380, including a promotion to Lieutenant Commander in 2377.

Unfortunately, his married life was not so successful, as he and his wife split in February 2380 after she complained about him not spending enough time with her and Wallace refusing to end his career in Starfleet. They eventually agreed to separate on mutual agreement, and turned into close friends while continuing to keep a united front towards Chloe, so as to give her as normal a life as possible.

After the Dominion War, Wallace transferred to the USS Sutherland under Captain Falco, and together they served in the Taurot Campaign, before both transferring to the USS Swiftsure in 2380.

Captain Jacob Harkness

Jacob Harkness was born in 2333 in St. Louis, Missouri. After a promising early school career, Harkness was pursuing a college degree in advanced mathematics at the University of Washington when the Cardassian War broke out in 2352, and he immediately transferred to Starfleet Academy, feeling, he said, ‘a sense of duty’, and planned to leave once the war was over. Majoring in Starship Operations, where he excelled, he also gained recognition as a promising Command candidate. His tactical grades were decent enough, but his leadership skills shone through in several scenarios. His fellow cadets often looked to him for their orders, including upperclassmen.

Harkness graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2353 and was assigned to the USS Iroquois as Deputy Operations Officer. The Iroquois primary mission was a five-year survey mission to the Galactic "North". This appealed to Harkness’ scientific nature, and he was instrumental in several important discoveries during his tour aboard. Exploring away from the combat area, the Iroquois became the first starship to encounter a Breen ship since first contact took place in the mid-23rd century.

Following the Iroquois’ successful return, Harkness received promotion to Lieutenant and was assigned to the USS Hamlet, a Centaur-class starship, which was then immediately sent to the front lines. It was on this mission that he met Mar'zief Falco, whom he took an immediate disliking to. Of course, the fact that Falco had managed to stick an Andorian dye in his shower that colored him blue for a day didn't help much. The antagonism between the two almost lead Harkness to leave the Hamlet after only a few months aboard. However, late in 2358, the Hamlet was disabled in a Cardassian attack that wiped out the vessel’s command staff and left the ship adrift in enemy territory, with Falco and Harkness as the highest-ranking officers aboard. The two, along with the surviving crew, managed to work together to get the ship up and running again and limped back to friendly space. This experience created an extremely strong bond between the two officers, and they shared several assignments together in the years that followed, both rising rapidly through the ranks.

Early in the course of the Dominion War, Harkness was promoted to captain and given the USS Revere, which saw action in some of the most crucial encounters of the war, and was one of the few survivors of the Seventh Fleet’s attack on the Tyra System.

With the loss of the Revere during the final assault on Cardassia Prime, Harkness transferred to Starfleet Operations, overseeing the construction of what would become his new command, the USS Alabama, one of the first Nova-X rebuilds.

Vice-Admiral Nicolai Martin

Vice-Admiral Nicolai Martin was born on March 21st, 2322 around Dreadnaught Island, New Britain Colony. A son of an English Father and a Russian Mother, he has always had close ties to family.

Ever since he was born, he has had an incredible facination with naval history, from the mightly Grand Admiral Whr'Gyltn of Tellar to the deivous tratior Captian Farrgam "Huntress" Shalakr of Earth's 22nd century. With his mother by his side, he sailed across the lakes and rivers in the family catamaran up untill his entry into Starfleet Academy in 2342.

There he met his fellow classmate Cadet Jason Bailer. They were academic rivals during their time at the Academy, constantly trying to outdo each other in everything from Warp Theroy to Latin. He graduated second in his class, right behind Bailer.

They were sent on different ships, Bailer on the USS Duke of York (Excelsior, NCC-2345), and Martin on the USS Virginia (Nebula, NCC-65678), and their carrers took very different paths. Bailer gained command of the Duke of York when he turned 35, while Martin became the Cheif Engineer on the Virginia. While on board the Virginia, he met and later married his wife, Janice Calti.

After the Borg attack in 2366, the two former rivals finally met each other a year later and became best friends afterwards. Peter, Martin's only son, was born the same year.

He later was promoted to Admiral in 2372, and took command of the USS Columbia during the Dominion War. The Columbia was a distuingusihed Galaxy-class vessel, who had served bravely during the breif Klingon Civil War. All during the Dominion War, he still kept close ties to his family and wrote daily.

After the war, he finally was transferred to Starbase 42 near the Terran system, and was promoted to Vice-Admiral after his efforts during the Final Battle at Cardassia, which sorrowfully resulted in the loss of the Columbia.

Admiral Jason Bailer

Admiral Jason Bailer was born in 2323 on the New Providence Colony. In 2340, he joined Starfleet, graduating a year early at the top of his class. His career took off like a shot due to his sheer competence and incredible drive. He was a captain by 35 and an one-star admiral by 40.

When he was 26, he had his first and only son with his wife and fellow Starfleet officer Maigret Bailer, named Michael Bailer, or Mikey. The three were a loving, if sometimes seperated, family for about five years, but after that things went sour, and the Bailer's ultimately split up, Maigret taking custody of Mikey. However, Jason visited him as often as he could.

However, when he was 43, his life changed drastically. Bailer had always been close with his parents and family on Parliament. Unfortunately, the Borg attacked in 2366, destroying the colony, and he would never be the same again. He distanced himself from his son and ex-wife, trying to lose himself in his work. This ultimately led to a great deal of tension between Mikey and Jason, especially after then-Admiral Bailer missed both Mikey's high school graduation and graduation from Starfleet Academy.

On the other hand, his career took off even faster. He proved himself in several battles in the Dominion War, earning a great deal of prestige. In fact, after President Ja'alt was elected in 2378, Bailer became the youngest human Commander in Chief of Starfleet. In 2379, he transferred to Constitution City in orbit of Alpha Centauri with four other members of the Federation Council in an attempt to establish a "spare" council in case the main council was destroyed--a move that proved quite foresighted given the Breen attack of 2380...
